Children's Art Facilitated Group Therapy ProgramBolger Psychotherapy & Assessments, LLC and Makers have teamed up to offer a unique children's art facilitated group therapy program. This group will offer fun ways to learn, create, express, and connect with peers around emotions, in a safe and supportive setting. In our 6 week session, group members have the opportunity to travel through multiple therapist facilitated "stations" in the studio as they work on recognizing and labeling feelings through art. Children also learn about how their bodies experience different types of emotions, and how they can better cope and support each other in those moments. Therapists can offer more targeted problem solving and discussions in smaller groups to children, if needed, during group time. Finally, all of the coping strategies children learn in group are shared with their grown-ups, to help them practice and maintain the skills in their day to day.
The curriculum we've developed is really special, and we've been having an incredibly positive response from the first round of programming. The next children's art facilitated group therapy program will be Tuesday, June 25th through Tuesday, July 30th from 3 - 4:30pm.
